Stevie’s notes:
The 9’7 log features a diamond tail *. The design shortens the rail line by an inch, which helps the turning insanely! So, you’ve still got the full length from tip to tip but as soon as you turn the board on the rail it feels like the board wants to whip around a bit faster. It’s got a bit of a belly between the feet which helps the board roll from rail to rail. It does have boxier rails which I find helped in the slushier surf – it just keeps the board stable and on top of the water. With pinched rails you can sometimes dig into a bump and tip over a bit too easy. The model also has nice pulled in nose, so you don’t get any of the ears caught up in the sections ahead. Super good glider in the front third, a bit more buoyancy than the 9’4 and all round a smoother and bit easier to ride. This one is a bit more loggy vs the 9’4, which has a touch more performance to it.
