Inspired by Ben Aipa's experimental board from 1977, the Wrecking Ball is a high-performance super groveler designed to bridge the gap between Fish and HP Shortboards. This unique board brings together all the essential design elements to deliver maximum action in a compact size.
The Wrecking Ball's front half features a wide, squat outline, providing superior paddle power and planing ability. Its shape is punctuated by the distinctive Aipa STING (wing), which cuts sharply into the outline, creating a streamlined performance hip curve. This flows into a full tail section with a double-pronged bat tail, combining the characteristics of swallow and squash tails for optimal lift and bite. The result is a board that's incredibly responsive for tight-radius turns without sacrificing drive.
With updated high-performance bottom contours, the Wrecking Ball’s standout feature is its hydroplane-inspired "Bevel Rails." This 45-degree split rail design offers increased lift, reduced surface area for enhanced rail-to-rail transitions, and improved rail control for carving.
While others struggle on their standard shortboards, the Wrecking Ball gives you the power to speed down the line and carve through sections effortlessly
