Cross Surfboards Golden Nugget, has always been an entry-level priced surfboard Mini Mal but definitively not an entry-level surfboard.

Durable if treated as you would a custom surfboard, clear finish, unpretentious. Made under the branding Cross in honour of GUL Water sports founder Dennis Cross and in view of its heritage made to look very much Cornish with a representation of the Cornish Flag.

The Cross Golden Nugget surfboard is as close as any surfboard that could be described as Magic carpet type mid-size surfboard.

The magic carpets are flatter and fuller and are great to catch waves as they should paddle as easy as a longboard due to the template (effectively a longboard missing 2 feet in the centre). However, it can make it lifeless and would not light up the fun factor ( I for example always had a good surf with them but never a wow surf). But the Cross Golden Nugget has taken the best out of the magic carpet outline and made it more interesting and given the benefits of a good Mini Mal bottom contours, concave in the front to flat under the Chest and a slight double concave in the rear to benefit rail to rail transition. It has been kept wide in the nose and wide in the tail.

From the start, this model has been the best seller in the Mini Mal market, as it fits entry level but will carry through to a good standard surfer!! Will easily compliment anyone’s surfboard quiver.
